Business Technology

The business technology program provides students with classroom and "hands-on" training in many aspects of today's business operations. The emphasis is on training in financial services and risk management. The junior year program studies accounting and financial management using traditional methods and the senior year program employs automated or computerized methods. In addition, senior students get a chance to run a "virtual company" simulating all aspects operating a real-world business.


What will you study?
Some of the unit studied in business technology are:
Economic and Business Principles, Small Business Management,
Technical Documentation, Business Law, Computer Concepts and Applications, Banking Basics, General Accounting Functions, Basic Marketing Principles, Financial Management Functions, E-Commerce, Professional and Ethical Standards, and Customer Relations.

What jobs are available to business technology graduates?
Depending on the individual student's goals and completing of advanced training (associate or baccalaureate degree) students may become:

Business technology is available at the Choffin Career and Technical Center.

Students complementing the College Tech Prep business technology program can continue their studies in the 2-year Associate of Arts in Business Administration or the 4-year Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Degree program at Youngstown State University.
